POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will lead the planning responsibilities and support the operations functions for Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital Safety / Emergency Management Department.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Supports emergency management leadership with researching, reviewing, and drafting “all-hazards” emergency plans and polices.
- Completes an annual hazard vulnerability analysis (HVA) and 96 Hour Sustainability Assessment for Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital (JHACH) in conjunction with the Director of Safety and other Departments.
- Maintains and updates the annual review of the Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP) with Pinellas County and AHCA.
- Oversee and manage JHACH’s Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) program
- Supports departments with the development and operational readiness of emergency operations/preparedness plans and departmental business continuity plans.
- Develops, implements, and manages an effective and ongoing exercise/drill and training program for JHACH that meets the regulatory requirements for Florida’s Agency for Healthcare Administration AHCA, the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services CMS, The Joint Commission TJC, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency FEMA.
- Serves in a command position during activations of the EOC which involves being the lead developer of the Incident Action Plan, conducting planning team meetings, and supervising planning section.
- Prepares and analyzes post-incident damage assessments, including preparation and review of After-Action Reports / Improvement Plans.
- Manages and applies for pertinent grants, including the Hospital Preparedness Program Grant.
- Applies for FEMA funds after a storm and mitigation strategies prior.
- Advises local, state, and federal disaster officials on relevant information related to emergency management operations at JHACH.
- Serves on various committees related to emergency management and attends assigned emergency management meetings for JHACH.
- Represents the Director of Safety at meetings and committees.
- Management of emergency preparedness supplies and equipment
- Other duties as assigned to support JHACH operations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s required. Master’s in emergency management, public health, or similar concentration is preferred.
- Minimum of 3-4 years of previous work experience in an emergency management, public health, or public health or public service field. Master’s degree will substitute for 2 years of work experience.
- Certified Healthcare Emergency Professional CHEP preferred.
- FEMA Certified Trainer preferred
- Requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills combined with a diversified and complex approach to analyze and interpret specific and non-specific information in a decision-making process.
- Has contact with a wide variety of people requiring the ability to use a high level of tact and diplomacy.
- Requires discriminatory handling of confidential information
- Must have a record of successfully demonstrating initiative, self-direction and independence of thought, coupled with a diversified and creative approach to problem solving. Must have a record of demonstrated achievement in directing a work force.
Salary Range: Minimum 27.44 per hour - Maximum 43.91 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
