JHCP is looking for a Ophthalmic Technician at the Arlington Family Practice in Arlington, Virginia. The Ophthalmic Technician requires multi-tasking in order to complete a variety of tasks. Working with providers, Clinic Manager and other staff, this position’s primary role is to provide technician/clinical support to physicians. Secondary responsibilities include limited administrative duties such as responding to messages from patients and physicians and assisting with patient requests for refills, forms completion and prior authorizations.

Location: 4102 Wilson Blvd., Arlington, VA 22203
Shift: Non- Exempt - Full-time - 40 hours per week - 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
What You'll Need to be Successful:
- High School Diploma or GED required.

Solid knowledge of ocular anatomy (including anterior and posterior portions of eye). Good working knowledge of ophthalmic medications, and common allergic reaction to drugs. Good working knowledge of the following ophthalmic equipment: projector, trial lenses, phoropter, various tonometer’s, lensometer, slit lamp, Bright Field Acuity Tester, and Potential Acuity Meter. Working knowledge of ophthalmic photography equipment. Good working knowledge of medical terminology.

Prior experience in a clinical office setting as an ophthalmic technician preferred.

Salary Range: Minimum 18.69 per hour - Maximum 30.87 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
