Summary:
The Senior Communication Specialist leads the development of internal or external communications strategies in alignment with organizational priorities. This position will develop and maintain relationships with internal audiences including executive leadership, clients, faculty, staff, trainees, and students and external audiences including journalists, community stakeholders and consumers, to advance awareness of Johns Hopkins Medicine’s mission, vision and values. Further, the position will provide communications counsel and guidance to internal clients including organizational leadership and stakeholders to help achieve organizational goals. Responsible for coordinating and liaising with other Marketing and Communications specialties to achieve client-specific goals. This role will lead operational processes and analytical tasks as needed, and coordinates with other Marketing and Communications department colleagues to implement projects and initiatives.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in journalism, public relations or related communications fields is preferred. Advanced degree in related field preferred.
Work Experience:
Minimum of five years of experience in a communications field, preferably in a healthcare of education setting.
Salary Range: Minimum 30.60 per hour - Maximum 50.53 per hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
