Patient Service Coordinator Position -
Hours: 8:00 am - 4:00pm
Position Type: Full Time 37.5 - 40 hours

Roles and Responsibilities:
The Patient Service Coordinator coordinates activities and all administrative tasks for patients and their designated physicians. This position requires initial and follow-up care coordination within a multifaceted clinical office. This position requires the candidate to regularly contact patients, patient families, physicians, insurance companies, and third-party insurance companies related to patient care.
- Professionally and efficiently answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and call patients
- Greet all patients and visitors in a prompt and courteous manner
- Responsible for loading or confirming insurance, demographic, and pharmacy information into the EMR system
- Provide administrative support to one or more physician
- Provide administrative support for medical matters on behalf of the physician
- Provide quality service and support in a variety of areas which may include, but is not limited to, scheduling, registration, and care coordination
- Schedule and coordinate referrals, prescription refills, and lab testing for patients.
- Provide instructions to patients on pretesting procedures and preparing paperwork as needed
- Provide quality support and assistance to patients accessing EMR Portal and explain portal messaging
- Enter daily charges accurately and punctually
- Responsible for collecting copays and outstanding balances from patients
- Responsible for managing all documents by scanning, filing, faxing, and uploading during each patient check-in
- Responsible for maintaining a neat and organized work area
- Provide backup support or leave coverage to other patient service coordinators
- Other duties as assigned by management or physicians
Qualifications and Educational Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- Minimum of two-year work experience in a medical office preferred
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Comprehensive knowledge of insurance terminology and insurance plans
- Customer service skills required
- Computer and Technology Skills required
- Organizational Skills and proofreading skills required
- Demonstrated ability for self-direction, initiation, and handling of multiple tasks required
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team required
- Prior eClinicalWorks experience is preferred
- Prior EPIC experience is preferred
- Prior pulmonology or sleep medicine is preferred
- Proves stability in previous positions REQUIRED
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 – 40 per week
