Learn more at https : / / www.jnj.com / innovative-medicine Johnson & Johnson R&D encompasses the development of sophisticated materials, process improvements, risk management and mechanical testing through the development process across all sectors including Pharmaceutical, Medical Device, Consumer and Corporate / Enterprise. The successful candidate for this position will join the upstream process development team within the therapeutic protein process development group in Malvern, PA. The project scope will encompass the design and execution of small scale AMBR-250 studies to investigate impacts of media supplements / raw materials on product quality, as well as follow-up studies at 5L scale to extend learnings from AMBR scale studies. The candidate will be responsible to perform upstream process development studies including :
- Participate in design of experiments
- Perform study execution
- Record and analyze data
- Document results in electronic notebooks
- Author technical reports and presentations Education :
- Candidates must be actively enrolled in an accredited University for the duration of a co-op assignment pursuing a Bachelor’s or equivalent experience, Master’s, or PhD degree or equivalent experience.
- Chemical engineering, biological engineering, biomedical engineering, and related majors are preferred
- An undergraduate student rising to their Junior or Senior year is preferred.
- Minimum GPA of 2.8 is required.
- Completion of Undergraduate Freshmen year at an accredited University is required. Requirements :
- Basic laboratory skills / experience with pipettors and scales is required
- Knowledge of and experience with cell culture / aseptic technique is required
- Experience with Design of Experiments approach to study execution is preferred
- Experience with statistical software (JMP, Minitab) is preferred
- High degree of organization is required
- Good written and verbal communication skills are required
- Experience maintaining written records of work is required
- The ability to report and present data is required
- Experience with team-based collaborations is required
