Job Title: Hourly Lube & Tire Technician
Department: Johnson Brothers Ford Quick Lane
Reports To: Service Manager/Lead Technician
Summary:
The Lube & Tire Technician is responsible for performing a variety of automotive maintenance services, including oil changes, tire rotations, tire repairs, fluid checks and fills, and other minor repairs. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform oil changes, including filter replacements and top-offs of other fluids (coolant, power steering, transmission, etc.)
- Rotate tires, balance wheels, and perform tire pressure checks and adjustments.
- Inspect vehicle belts, hoses, and other under-the-hood components.
- Perform basic vehicle inspections, including checking lights, wipers, and fluid levels.
- Assist with minor repairs as needed, such as replacing air filters, batteries, and light bulbs.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with customers.
- Assist other technicians as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in automotive service preferred, but not required.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and ability to use hand tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy items (tires, tools, etc.).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions.
