This is a full-time, on-site role for an Assistant Professor at Johnson C. Smith University located in Charlotte, NC. The Assistant Professor will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses, developing and revising curriculum, mentoring students, engaging in scholarly research, and contributing to university service activities. Additional duties will include collaborating with faculty on interdisciplinary initiatives and participating in departmental meetings, committees, and academic advising.
- Experience in teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses
- Strong background in curriculum development and revision
- Proven track record of scholarly research and publications
- Excellent mentoring and academic advising skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to engage in university and community service
- Doctorate degree in a relevant field
- Experience with interdisciplinary initiatives is a plus
