Johnson College is currently seeking Summer Camp Instructors. Johnson College hosts summer camps for students in grades 5th through 8th grade. The camps are designed to showcase the programs Johnson College offers. Summer camps provide the ideal learning environment outside the traditional classroom experience. Allowing students to get hands on experience learning and practicing skills that could translate into a field of study and a future career.
Essential Job Functions:
- Plans, leads, and implements camp programming.
- Provides high-quality educational and recreational opportunities and enjoyable experiences for camp participants.
- Supervises campers and ensures their safety, development, growth, skill achievement and general well-being.
- Maintains a daily schedule for camp participants.
- Facilitates and creates lesson plans for daily hands-on activities.
- Organizes and leads various small and large group activities.
- Ensures the cleanliness of the site.
- Assists in maintaining accurate program records, including incident reports, logbook documentation, and daily attendance.
- Knows and understands all emergency procedures associated with the camp program.
- Knows, enforces, and follows all safety guidelines associated with the camp program.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Ability to organize, coordinate, and evaluate complex events.
- Maintains a classroom and school environment, which is safe, orderly, conducive to effective learning, and appropriate to the maturity and interest of all students.
- Demonstrates a professional attitude, philosophy, compassion, and commitment that promotes student growth and learning.
- Supports the student-learning plan through presentations, mentoring, coaching, and tutoring individual students.
- Acts as a mentor to motivate and encourage students to learn across all subject areas, specifically STEM/Career and Technical Education (CTE).
- Works collaboratively with other instructors and administrators to develop teaching materials.
- Pursues innovative approaches to instructional delivery, including creative and effective uses of technology and online instruction, differentiated instruction and project-based assessments, and incorporation of current original events.
- Exhibits the willingness and ability to adapt to an environment of continuous growth and fast-paced change.
- Maintains a professional appearance at all times.
- Valid driver's license
Education:
- Associate's degree in Education, Trades, Technology, and/or Engineering
Skills:
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
