Job Summary :
A Commercial Carpenter is responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made of wood, metal, and other materials in commercial buildings. This role requires expertise in reading blueprints, measuring and cutting materials, and assembling components according to specifications. The Commercial Carpenter must ensure all work is completed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with building codes and company standards.
Key Responsibilities :
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials such as wood, metal, drywall, and plastics using hand and power tools.
- Install frameworks, partitions, doors, windows, flooring, and other structural elements in commercial buildings.
- Construct and install cabinetry, countertops, and other custom woodwork as needed.
- Operate a variety of woodworking machinery and tools to complete projects efficiently.
- Ensure all carpentry work meets quality standards and adheres to safety regulations.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople, such as electricians, plumbers, and HVAC technicians, to ensure smooth project completion.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on existing structures and fixtures.
- Maintain a clean and organized worksite, ensuring tools and materials are stored properly.
- Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
