Salary : $90,000 - $120,000 base salary plus bonus incentive.
We are seeking a Controls Engineer to join our federal team supporting the Fort McNair and Fort Myer military bases in Arlington, VA. Our team here is responsible for the Industrial Control Systems across the bases, primarily working with HVAC mechanical, HVAC controls (BAS / DDC), utilities, metering, lighting, and other building technologies.

Johnson Controls Federal Systems (JCFS) is a specialized team serving as a trusted partner to the federal government. We help modernize U.S. military installations, Department of Defense sites, and other federal agency facilities to be smarter, more resilient, efficient, sustainable, and secure.
Location : Will primarily support the Fort McNair and Fort Myer military bases in Arlington (Military experience is not required.)
Shift : Day Shift, Monday-Friday. Team primarily works 6 : 30am - 3 : 00pm.
Benefits : Eligible for benefits on first day of employment.
Paid Time Off : 3 weeks of paid vacation, 5 sick days, 3 floating holidays, and 10 standard holidays per calendar year (6.5 weeks in total)
As a Controls Engineer with our team you will :
- Create sequence of operations and control drawings using tools like Visio.
- Create, test, and download control systems for air handlers, central plants, or VAV boxes
- Diagnose and correct programming issues in the field.
- Support technicians by ensuring the quality, timeliness and efficiency of designs while commissioning new building control systems.
- Provides support to the mechanical staff to assist with troubleshooting issues.
- Compiles job documentation, such as certificate of completion, customer training forms, training certificates and punch
- Coordinate drawings and equipment schedules to include in detailed information and submittal packages that communicate design and operation to customers, consultants, field installation team and subcontractors
- Validate complete system functionality
- Provide site-specific training for owner / operator on the total building control system
