Emergency Medical Technician (Basic EMT)

Location: Johnson County Hospital, Tecumseh, Nebraska

Johnson County Hospital is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Emergency Medical Technician (Basic EMT) to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will provide essential interfacility transport services and assist nursing staff with patient care, supporting our mission to deliver exceptional care to our community.

• 
  Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide patient care within the full scope of an EMT Basic, following Nebraska State Model Protocols.
  • Assist paramedics and nursing staff in stabilizing patients in the Emergency Department.
  • Safely transport patients between facilities while monitoring conditions and reporting changes.
  • Document patient care accurately in electronic health records.
  • Perform intake procedures, including vital signs and medical histories.
  • Assist with patient hygiene, mobility, and nutritional needs.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of patient rooms.
  • Collect laboratory specimens and perform EKGs as directed by medical staff.
  • Maintain and inventory supplies, ensuring availability of BLS.
  • Participate in vehicle and equipment maintenance, station upkeep, public education, and emergency medical service training.
  • Engage in ongoing education to maintain certifications.
• Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Nebraska EMT-B License.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  
  • Completion of EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operator Course).
