Reports To : Dietary Manager

Job Type : Full-time | Rotating Weekends and Holidays Required

Position Overview :

Johnson County Hospital is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dietary Cook to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and serving meals according to dietary requirements and maintaining a safe, clean, and organized kitchen. Your focus will be on delivering nutritious, high-quality meals while adhering to strict food safety and sanitation protocols.

Key Responsibilities :

Prepare and serve food according to dietary instructions and patient needs.

Ensure proper food temperatures are maintained and accurately recorded.

Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment at all times.

Label and date all food items when received, prepared, or opened.

Plan and organize the kitchen for the following day's meals.

Collaborate with dietary aides and supervisors to complete all tasks efficiently.

Assist with food deliveries and organize storage areas.

Clean dishes and maintain the staff dining area.

Follow and enforce safety and sanitation protocols in compliance with regulations.

Qualifications :

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Ability to read and follow recipes accurately.

Previous experience in a healthcare or food service environment is preferred.

Strong organizational and teamwork skills.

Ability to maintain high cleanliness and safety standards.

Flexibility to work rotating weekends and holidays.
