POSITION DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE : School Level Bookkeeper

REPORTS TO : Finance Director and Principal

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT : 11 month position

QUALIFICATIONS :

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

Maintain accurate accounting records by ensuring that all expenditures and revenues are recorded in an accurate and timely manner.

Assist in the preparation of reports for local and state education agencies.

Prepare financial statements for the Board of Education and school district administration.

Perform monthly bank statement reconciliation.

Create, edit and manage district account codes in accordance with the Tennessee Financial Accounting guidelines.

Manage bank transactions and ensure bank accounts are adequately secured.

Assist auditors in finding and interpreting school information.

Provide clerical support to building level administration.

Input purchase orders and ensure payment is sent in a timely manner.

OTHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

Attend meetings and training as required.

Maintain confidentiality.

Other duties as assigned.
