GENERAL SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the County Attorney and Office Administrator. Performs a variety of clerical duties for the County Attorney’s Office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by incumbents of this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.
- Accepts and processes cases from merchants on Theft by Worthless Check.
- Accepts and processes criminal cases involving Restitution and Reimbursement.
- Performs clerical duties, which includes calendaring court information, answering and directing phone calls in courteous and professional manner, maintaining logs, filing, indexing, preparing and distributing correspondence, verifying and scanning documents, inputting data and maintaining files on computer.
- Maintains collections of monies, balances cash reports, and runs daily collection reports.
- Provides customer service, which includes handling inquiries, providing information on filing and payments, maintaining payment schedules and processing requests.
- Assists merchants in the preparation and processes of cases to ensure cases are in compliance with office guidelines and procedures and statutory law.
- Reviews and processes filings from the queue and e-filing emails into the attorney management program for criminal, juvenile, mental, civil and DFPS cases.
- Scans original documents into appropriate database and performs data entry of index information.
- Files and processes cases in the attorney manager program for criminal, mental and DFPS cases.
- Performs other related duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
- Employees are required to comply with safety regulations, procedures, protocol and wear personal protective gear if required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
High School diploma or equivalent, with under and including 2-5 years related experience. Combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions listed above can be substituted.
SALARY
$40,309 TO $51,508 DOE
