We are seeking a motivated preconstruction professional to join our team as a Preconstruction Manager / Senior Estimator.
The Preconstruction Manager / Senior Estimator will work closely with the Executive Vice President and the Director of Preconstruction Services, focusing on preconstruction strategy, client service, client relations, and industry technology, while simultaneously completing project-specific preconstruction assignments. Additional responsibilities include collaborating and networking with both Owners and members of the design community. This position requires the ability to produce detailed cost proposals that encompass civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical construction elements at various levels of design, from conceptual design through 100% construction documents.

Job duties primarily consist of the following:
- Professionally and positively representing Johnson & Galyon, Inc. in the local construction market.
- Providing expert preconstruction services to our clients at all design levels, including but not limited to cost estimates, schedule development, and value analysis.
- Continuous development and refinement of estimate reports.
- Creating and delivering presentations to clients and design professionals.
- Cultivating new industry relationships and maintaining existing ones.
- Collaborating internally with Johnson & Galyon staff, including estimators and project managers.
- Mentoring responsibilities.
- Leading estimating and hard bid efforts.
- Reviewing cost estimates, proposals, and schedules within a team setting.
- Performing quantity surveys.
- Maintaining and establishing deadlines for milestone activities.
- Managing database maintenance.

Work Hours:
This is a full-time salaried position. Occasional weekend and extended hours may be required.
Travel:
Minimal travel is required. Johnson & Galyon, Inc. operates in Knoxville, TN, and the surrounding counties.
Required Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Science/Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, or a related field.
- A minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience in commercial preconstruction.
- Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.
- A verifiable history demonstrating the ability to (1) provide successful preconstruction services, (2) foster positive and beneficial client relationships, and (3) collaborate across multiple disciplines.
- Excellent computer proficiency with software such as Microsoft Office, Timberline Estimating, On-Screen Takeoff, Bluebeam, etc.
