Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Paralegal to join our legal team. Our firm focuses on the defense of allegations of medical malpractice. The ideal candidate will support attorneys by organizing medical records, obtaining medical records and other records in discovery, and drafting medical chronologies. The candidate will also assist in managing contact with expert witnesses and providing the materials they need. This role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently while maintaining high professionalism. Attention to detail is a must.
Responsibilities
- Conduct research using tools such as Westlaw; perform social media and investigative research.
- Communicate with expert witnesses regarding their retention, materials for review, and scheduling.
- Analyze and organize medical and billing records.
- Draft medical chronologies.
- Assist with drafting and responding to written discovery, including interrogatories, production, and admission requests.
- Perform all aspects of obtaining medical, employment, and insurance records, including drafting stipulations and subpoenas for documents.
- Perform redaction of confidential information in compliance with court rules.
- Draft pre-trial documents such as ER 904 Statements, and Witness and Exhibits Lists.
- Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, court hearings, and all aspects of pretrial litigation in both state and federal courts.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring deadlines are met.
