SUMMARY : The Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking meals for the bar and restaurant, ensuring daily food prep is completed on time, maintaining a fully stocked kitchen inventory, and adhering to safety and cleanliness standards. To succeed in this role, the cook should work efficiently in a team, preparing high-quality food while maintaining consistency in taste and presentation. The cook will also assist the kitchen staff and collaborate with the sales and F&B managers to execute catering menus and special events.
17.00 / hr., approximately 28hrs. / week to start. We offer medical, dental, life insurance and 401K with company match.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
1. Prepare, cook, and plate dishes in accordance with hotel restaurant menu standards and recipes.
2. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, following all health and safety regulations.
3. Assist with the preparation of food for daily service and special events.
4. Ensure proper portion control and presentation of food items.
5. Collaborate with kitchen staff and supervisors to coordinate meal service and manage kitchen workflow.
6. Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and communicate with management regarding replenishment needs.
7. Maintain kitchen equipment and utensils, ensuring they are cleaned and in good working order.
8. Adhere to food safety standards, including proper handling, storage, and sanitation.
9. Work efficiently in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
10. Assist in the development of menu items and contribute to improving kitchen operations.
11. Use the L.E.A.R.N Model for all guest recovery incidents that occur (Listen, Empathize, Apologize, React, Notify)
12. Always have a friendly and welcoming demeanor when interacting with our guests.
13. Teamwork – offer to help or ask for help from your team members as situations arise.
14. Complete food safety and alcohol serve certification.
15. Have the ability to hand carry a minimum of three plates. All servers will be sharing in the food running.
16. Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Bistro as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
17. Notify Supervisor / Manager of any problems with cleaning or equipment.
18. Fill out maintenance work orders and deliver to supervisor / manager or designated area in a timely manner
19. Responsible for knowing all hotel emergency procedures
20. Follow all hotel safety guidelines and requirements
21. Responsible for following all hotel quality assurance standards for department
22. Responsible for the proper administration of keys left by guests
23. Bring all lost and found items to the supervisor’s or manager’s office for logging and storage
24. Accommodate guest special requests courteously
25. Answer guest questions regarding hotel and local area facilities and services 26. Carry out any reasonable request by management that I am capable of performing

Requirements :
One year cooking experience preferred.
Must obtain food handlers certification within 30 days as a condition of employment.
