Biosense Webster, Inc., a member of The Johnson & Johnson’s Family of Companies, is recruiting for a Professional Education Specialist – Lab Efficiency Training Expertise Center (LETEC) based remotely within the United States which may require up to 50% of domestic travel.
Atrial fibrillation (AFIB) is a quivering or irregular heartbeat (arrhythmia) that can lead to blood clots, stroke, heart failure and other heart-related complications. 20 million people around the world suffer from AFIB each year. Biosense Webster, Inc. is the global leader in the science of diagnosing and treating heart rhythm disorders. The company established its leadership in electrophysiology with the development of the first real-time, 3D cardiac mapping and navigation technology, as well as the first electrophysiology catheter. The introduction of the company’s CARTO® 3 System in 2009 revolutionized 3D mapping technology by increasing the accuracy, speed, and efficiency of the cardiac ablation procedure.
The Professional Education Specialist will lead Biosense Webster, Inc. (BWI) Professional Education initiatives and activities related to Lab Efficiency Training Expertise Centers (TEC). The primary focus of this role will be to develop the virtual and in-person training strategy for Electrophysiologists involving live procedures and small-group programs. The Professional Education Specialist will serve as a resource to advise field sales teams on potential training opportunities and upcoming courses. They will also work with Professional Education teammates, US Commercial Marketing partners, and Field Sales colleagues to identify training gaps and opportunities in the market.
Key Responsibilities:
Under limited supervision, general direction, and in accordance with all applicable federal, state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson procedures and guidelines, this position will:
- Lead preceptorship (LETEC), proctorship, and peer-to-peer education programs virtually and in-person with key electrophysiologist faculty at various hospitals throughout the US.
- Ensure
TECLab Efficiency TEC sites and physician faculty are embracing new technologies and that faculty and Biosense Webster sales teams at each site are accurately trained to train customers. - Assess demand for new
TECLab Efficiency TEC sites, modifications of existing LETEC sites as needed, based on follow-up, customer satisfaction and utilization. - Handle all communication and follow up with the LETEC sites, attendees, and field referrals.
- Refine event facilitation process and train internal hosts and physician faculty on hosting/facilitation methodologies.
- Design, develop, and facilitate clinical educational content in a live clinical setting, incorporating stakeholder input and support (including Health Care Compliance, Medical Science, Commercial Marketing, and key physician collaboration).
- Handle budget planning, costs, and materials, including oversight of administrative support for event planning.
- Ensure training meets key learning objectives for Electrophysiologists and is aligned with Marketing strategies.
- Develop processes to assess efficiency, outcomes, and return on investment of programs via direct and indirect feedback.
- Lead all aspects of submission and preservation of all content for copy approval and compliance.
- Cross-train with Professional Education teammates to support other programs as needed.
- Educate field sales personnel are aware of programs, registration, and enrollment processes.
- Attend key training programs, symposia, and conferences
- Responsible for communicating business related issues or opportunities to next management level
Qualifications
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Science with a minimum of five years of related experience is required.
Experience and Skills:
Required:
- 2 years of experience in the field of Electrophysiology in a customer-facing role.
- Expert clinical understanding of Electrophysiology, specific to mapping/ablation of complex arrhythmias.
- Proven track record of having challenging discussions with key physicians to modify behaviors and promote the best training practices.
- Experience handling large quantities of data, including collection and analysis (in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong presentation, written and oral communication skills.
Preferred:
- Experience handling key customer relationships and working with Key Opinion Leading Electrophysiologists
- IBHRE Certification

- This position can be based remotely in the US and may require up to 50% domestic travel.
