Transportation Lead

The Regional Transportation Organization (RTO) within the Johnson & Johnson Deliver organization provides transportation, import, and export support for North America Consumer, Pharmaceutical, and Medical Device companies.

As our Transportation Lead, you serve as the liaison between the RTO, supported operating companies in the Consumer sector, and various transportation providers to ensure on-time pickup and delivery targets are achieved. In addition, you will be responsible to

Responsibilities:

• Lead a portfolio of lanes within the J&J Consumer network and ensure optimal service, including resolving tactical issues daily.
• Achieve targets across critical metrics such as spend management, on-time delivery, cost improvement programs and quality investigations.
• Analyze strategic transportation supply chain requirements and develop creative solutions for improving service, reducing spend and our carbon footprint.
• Lead all aspects of specified transportation services, including inbound freight management, strategic transportation analysis, compliance, claims and freight payment. Facilitate the expedited freight approval process and track spend. Partner with manufacturing, distribution, and planning colleagues to streamline flow and minimize costs.
• Supervise up to 2 inbound transportation analysts, with responsibility for goal-setting, development, and performance management.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Minimum Bachelor's degree required
• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience required
• Requires experience in logistics, customer service, transportation, distribution, operations, supply chain, and/or information technology
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to succeed with internal and external business partners
• Ability to balance multiple priorities successfully and work independently while demonstrating initiative
• Proven analytical experience and ability to thrive in a dynamic work environment
• People leadership experience preferred
• Project management experience preferred
• Six Sigma/Process Excellence Tools, Training or certification preferred
• APICS Certification preferred
• Requires intermediate Microsoft Office proficiency; VLOOKUPS and pivot tables required
• Tableau or data visualization systems experience preferred
• Requires up to 10% domestic and international travel
