Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced, self-driven Family Law Attorney who is eager to tackle challenging cases and help shape the future of our practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, take initiative in managing their own caseload, and embrace opportunities for personal and professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Representation: Represent clients in all family law matters, including divorce proceedings, child custody/visitation arrangements, child and spousal support, property division, restraining orders, adoptions, and pre-/post-nuptial agreements.
- Case Management: Manage a diverse caseload from start to finish, including conducting client interviews, drafting pleadings, negotiating settlements, and advocating in court.
- Legal Research and Strategy: Stay current with changes in family law regulations and case precedent to provide accurate and strategic advice.
- Negotiation and Litigation: Negotiate effectively to obtain optimal settlements for clients while remaining prepared to litigate complex cases when necessary.
- Client Communication: Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates and managing expectations on case progression.
- Collaboration and Mentorship: Work closely with support staff and junior attorneys, sharing expertise and fostering an environment of growth and teamwork.
Qualifications
- J.D. degree from an accredited law school and active membership in the Colorado Bar
- Minimum 2-10 years of experience practicing family law (or equivalent demonstrated experience)
- Proven track record of successfully handling hearings, trials, and settlement negotiations in family law matters
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and effectively manage time and multiple priorities
- Strong commitment to ethical practice, professionalism, and client service
- Growth-oriented mindset, with eagerness to take on leadership roles and expand the scope of the practice
