Immigration law firm located in the heart of Tyson's Corner looking to hire an associate immigration attorney to add to its growing team! Our office offers provides the opportunity to develop and further refine one's foundation in immigration law by working on a variety of cases, all while working along side our friendly team of attorneys and paralegals who enjoy collaboration, conversation and teamwork to drive results for our clients.
Job Description
Job duties include:
- Representing individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Courts
- Appearing with individuals before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services for family-based matters, as well as for adjustment of status and naturalization.
- Preparing filings before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, including but not limited to Waivers, VAWA applications, and U Visa petitions.
- Preparing asylum applications and appearing with individuals at the Asylum Office for asylum interviews
- Preparing filings before the Department of Labor in PERM matters, as well as preparing employment-based visa applications
- Handling client meetings
- Drafting briefs, motions, affidavits, letters, responses to requests for evidence/notices of intent to deny
- Meeting deadlines
Required Experience
- One or more years of experience in immigration law
Skills
- Strong writing, oral advocacy, and research skills
- Must be very organized, professional, proactive and a team-player
- Fluency in a language other than English is preferred, but not required
Education
- Must have J.D. and be in good and active standing of a state bar (VA preferred but not required)
