Job Summary
We are looking for a highly skilled Lacquer Tinting Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in color matching, mixing, and tinting lacquers to achieve precise hues and finishes. This role demands a strong understanding of color theory, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work with various materials and tools. Familiarity with product lines from ML Campbell, Milesi, Sirca and Gemini is essential.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU
This position requires the incumbent to be able to match lacquer and stain samples for the entire company. The incumbent should have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience working with color and must be comfortable matching difficult colors. The right candidate is organized, attentive, focused and a self-starter. The right candidate will be flexible and adaptable to the changes that quickly affect this job. Exceptional customer service and problem-solving skills are a must. You feel accomplished using your knowledge and skills to help the company!
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately mix and tint lacquers to match specific color requirements.
- Maintain and update color formulas and recipes.
- Conduct color matching tests and adjustments to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Apply tinted lacquers to test panels and evaluate the finished product.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including proper storage and labeling of materials.
- Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained and in good working condition.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Keep detailed records of all tinting processes, materials used, and batch information.
- Stay current with industry trends, new materials, and techniques in lacquer tinting.
- Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency with product lines from ML Campbell, Sirca, Milesi, and Gemini.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in paint technology or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Wood Coatings Tinting Specialist or similar role.
- Strong understanding of color theory and color matching techniques.
- Proficiency in using tinting tools and equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to stand for long periods.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and practices in the painting and tinting industry.
- Familiarity with product lines from ML Campbell, Milesi, Sirca and Gemini.
