Job Summary: Helps with recruitment activities, conducts new employee orientation, and posts job openings to internal and external recruiting systems. Assists with administrative or clerical work in relation to various human resource support operations. Provides information and assistance to employees and the general public regarding Human Resources activities, processes, policies, and procedures.
Demonstrates Competency in the Following Areas:
Schedules new hire paperwork appointments and administers the new hire process.
Prepares new hire personnel folders and utilizes new hire checklist to ensure forms are received and completed.
Verifies I-9 documentation and completes form as required by federal law.
Completes criminal background checks, Social Security checks, and Exclusion checks.
Completes verification of employment requests.
Processes new hires, by data entry as required, and maintains required information in appropriate files.
Conducts New Employee Orientation.
Files papers and documents into appropriate employee files.
Performs verification of licensure and/or certification on new employees.
Completes background checks on employees bi-yearly.
Maintains computer system by updating and entering data (real time). No batching of entries.
Posts positions and places job ads and routes resumes/job applications to department managers.
Updates weekly job posting and website.
Participates in job fairs.
Ensures reference checks are completed prior to formal job offers.
Ensures drug screens are negative.
Maintains personnel files in an up-to-date manner.
Performs file audits to ensure that all required employee documentation is collected and maintained.
Administers exit interviews process; provides summaries as needed.
Coordinates with employee, department manager, and Employee Health to process paperwork.
Maintains required records in current status at all times.
Enters changes into HR/Payroll system for changes in employee name, address, marital status, and/or dependents.
Ensures Human Resources' policies and procedures are followed.
Provides administrative support by answering the telephone, responding to employee requests and questions, and relaying messages.
Maintains employee confidence and protects operations by keeping Human Resources information confidential.
Assists with day-to-day operations of the HR functions and duties.
Maintains and monitors HR bulletin boards to ensure postings are current and compliant with applicable laws and regulations.
Develops and maintains a list of job descriptions for the organization.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Wears identification while on duty; uses computerized punch time system correctly.

Complies with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices.
Regulatory Requirements:
· High school education or equivalent required.
· Associate’s Degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field, preferred.
· One (1) year of experience in a Human Resources department, preferred.
Language Skills:
· Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
· Additional languages preferred.
· Excellent customer service skills.
Skills:
· Excellent computer knowledge and skills in working with spreadsheets, data entry, Internet/Intranet, etc.
· Ability to use all office equipment.
Physical Demands:
· Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
