Basic Functions
The Logistics II position is responsible for coordinating and optimizing shipping and receiving activities, including inventory management and logistics coordination with internal teams and external carriers. This mid-level role requires a deeper understanding of logistics processes and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve shipping issues. The Logistics II role directly supports Johnson Screens' core values of True North, Better & Bolder, and Doing the Right Thing by ensuring efficient and timely product delivery.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate and schedule inbound and outbound shipments with carriers and vendors.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels, conducting periodic audits to ensure accuracy.
- Resolve shipping discrepancies, delays, and issues with vendors and carriers.
- Maintain accurate shipping and inventory records in logistics software and ERP systems.
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., production, sales) to meet shipping deadlines and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Assist in implementing process improvements to increase efficiency in logistics operations.
- Train and assist Logistics I employees in day-to-day shipping and receiving activities.
- Perform various other duties as assigned by the Logistics Manager.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of shipping, receiving, and logistics processes
- Proficiency in logistics software and ERP systems for tracking and inventory management.
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with carriers, vendors, and internal teams.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience on sit down and stand-up forklifts.
