Basic Function
As a Machine Operator 1 at Johnson Screens, you will operate manufacturing machinery in alignment with our values of being a true "Johnsonite." Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor assigned machines and equipment to ensure consistent, high-quality production that meets established standards.
- Follow work orders, production drawings, and technical specifications to set up machinery and maintain accurate operations.
- Demonstrate better & bolder thinking by identifying opportunities to improve machine efficiency, quality output, and production processes.
- Collaborate with the production team to ensure timely completion of production schedules while maintaining the quality and safety of products.
- Perform routine checks and preventative maintenance on machinery to ensure smooth operation, demonstrating a proactive and open-minded approach to equipment care.
- Uphold our values by doing the right thing—always ensuring compliance with safety standards, quality guidelines, and company policies.
- Work confidently and competently in a fast-paced environment, adjusting machine settings as needed to meet production demands.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to troubleshoot issues, ensuring minimal downtime and continuous improvement in processes.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, promoting a safe and collaborative work environment.
- Accurately record production data, equipment usage, and any maintenance activities, ensuring integrity in all documentation.
- Must know Quality Policy and comply with all requirements of the Quality System Manual, Operating and technical procedures and work instructions as it applies to the position.
- Perform various other duties as assigned by the Manager.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of machine operation, manufacturing processes, and equipment maintenance.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to confidently follow detailed instructions, drawings, and safety protocols to ensure quality results.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on delivering results in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively and openly with team members.
- Competence in troubleshooting minor machine issues and making adjustments to improve performance.
- Ability to maintain integrity in following safety standards, policies, and procedures.
- A proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Salary : $21 - $24
