Summary

As a key member of the Charlotte Campus and in support of the Director of Advancement and Community Relations, the Coordinator will play a pivotal role in advancing our mission by coordinating university advancement and alumni relations activities and initiatives for the Charlotte Campus including, but not limited to, fundraising, increasing community awareness and enhancing alumni outreach efforts to build a strong and supportive community of alumni, parents and friends. The coordinator will maintain a collaborative and communicative partnership with JWU Advancement & Alumni Relations, located in Providence, Rhode Island.

Essential Job Functions

  • Cultivates and solicits alumni prospects for the Charlotte Campus to support university and campus priorities
  • Develops alumni events and networking programs to connect alumni back to the Charlotte Campus
  • Assists with developing and executing fundraising campaigns and events including researching, creating, and managing timelines, budgets, and other related materials to support annual giving initiatives throughout the fiscal year
  • Collaborates with university representatives to develop donor engagement and recognition opportunities for the Charlotte Campus
  • Assists in the preparation of fundraising proposals
  • Tracks donor and prospect outreach and activity in the department database, effectively following prospect management guidelines
  • Supports donor acknowledgements and maintains that correspondence is provided in a timely manner partnering with JWU Advancement & Alumni Relations
  • Collaborates with the university donor relations team, to prepare and deliver donor reports, presentations, and other materials as required to steward donors
  • Collaborates with the university community to maintain an updated and accurate alumni database
  • Develops and maintains a Charlotte-based student alumni association, involving current students as volunteers, in alumni relationship building activities and developing the culture of philanthropy on campus
  • Markets department events and alumni programs to campus faculty and staff
  • Answers questions from various constituents in a professional and appropriate manner, following department and university guidelines for information sharing and efficient service
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree
  • Moderate amount of experience working in program management, relationship management, event management, customer service or other related experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in higher education fundraising and/or event planning

Qualified candidates must live or relocate within a daily commuting distance of the Charlotte Campus location upon hire.
