Technology Technician I
Job Description
KNOWLEDGE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Make patch cables
- Repair data drops and replace wall data ports
- Image district PCs using district imaging technologies
- Install and configure software applications
- Utilize a work order tracking system for routine repair and maintenance of technologies district wide
- Install, setup, configure, and repair computer hardware components
- Provide workstation support
- Create and distribute workstation images
- Troubleshoot network issues
- Provide data recovery, SpyWare removal, and virus protection
- Install Windows security patches, updates, and service packs
- Execute any other duties as assigned by Supervisor
ACCEPTABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED from regionally or nationally accredited institution
- One or more years of experience in, or an equivalent combination, of formal training and experience in related field
- Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral forms.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must have valid North Carolina driver’s license
- Strong knowledge of Gmail and Google Aps for Education
- Must be able to perform medium/heavy lifting exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally
