JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION : Executive Director of Facilities Design and Construction
SALARY : Administrator Salary Schedule
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT : 12 Months
JOB GOAL : Performs a variety of supervisory and administrative tasks to direct the construction projects in the district.
QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES :
- Hold a Degree in Construction Management or related field. At least five (5) or more years of experience in construction management or related field.
- Strong organizational skills and overall knowledge of all aspects of the system. Strong collaboration, planning and communication skills.
- Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of school construction and engineering.
- Considerable knowledge of the ethical guidelines applicable to the position as outlined by professional organizations and / or federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations.
- Thorough knowledge of the school system's organization and operational policies and procedures.
- Experience in preparing proposals, budgeting, and money management related to construction management.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills utilizing tact and diplomacy.
- Ability to work on multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines with minimum supervision.
- Thorough knowledge of building codes, state and federal guidelines and other regulations related to capital projects.
- Ability to plan budgets, accounts and expenses for capital projects and departmental needs.
- Thorough knowledge of public bidding guidelines and regulations.
- Substantial knowledge of building practices, materials and mechanical and structural systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints for buildings and building systems.
- Ability to effectively present ideas and information to small and large groups
