Johnston County Department of Social Services has an immediate opening for a Processing Assistant V. The working title for this position is a Mailroom Scanning Supervisor. The Mailroom Scanning Supervisor is a new position to the agency, due to the agency's restructuring growth. This department provides a variety of office support and technical assistance to accomplish mail flow and document scanning throughout the agency. This department receives, prepares & scans mail and documents into the electronic data management system. The department interacts with internal and external customers in regards to supply requests & orders, delivery of mail, and questions regarding items scanned.The Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring that the assigned duties are performed by lower level Processing Assistants, while ensuring that timeliness and documentation requirements are maintained as mandated by Federal, State and County laws and guidelines. Under general supervision, this positon, plans, organizes and leads work of staff assigned to the agency’s combined mailroom and document scanning unit. This positon will also be responsible for the onboarding and management of new staff assigned to this unit, perform a wide variety of complex and specialized tasks related to improving the overall functioning of the agency. This position is responsible for sorting, picking up and delivering agency mail and United States mail and other materials. This position will train organize, monitor, assign the work of staff who are assigned to the agency’s mailroom, and ensure that the mailroom equipment operates and maintains mail processing. This position will also be responsible for coordinating the scanning process of agency documents into the case management system and other duties as assigned.
