What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Baseball Coach position at Johnston Senior High School?
The assistant baseball coach will support the head coach in managing the baseball team by teaching players, organizing practices, and analyzing performance. They also assist players in improving their skills and fostering a culture of positive sportsmanship.
****This position is Head Coach to the JV team****
Assists the Head Baseball coach with instructing players on the rules, regulations, equipment,
and techniques of the sport.
Organizes and directs individual and small group practice activities/exercises as directed by
the head Baseball coach.
Assesses player’s skills monitor players during competition and practice and keep the
head Baseball coach informed of the athletic performance of students.
Assists with determining game strategy.
Assists the head Baseball coach with supervising athletes during practices and competitions.
Follows established procedures in the event of an athlete’s injury.
Models sports-like behavior and maintain appropriate conduct towards players, officials,
and spectators.
Maintains the equipment room in orderly condition and assumes responsibility for its
security.
Distributes equipment, supplies, and uniforms to students as directed by the head coach.
Assists the head Baseball coach with submitting a list of award winners at the end of the
season.
Models nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.
