**Job Summary:**
The Head Athletic Coach will direct and oversee the girls' soccer program, promoting good sportsmanship and athletic excellence.
**Duties and Responsibilities:**
- Analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the current team and develop strategies based on these findings.
- Set goals for the athletic team, which may include team and individual player achievements, and motivate staff and players to achieve these goals.
- Collaborate with other coaches to prepare game plans for each game, meet, match, or competition.
- Gather information on competitors’ performance records, abilities, play styles, and game strategies, then develop appropriate game strategies to meet the challenges posed by those competitors.
- Provide instruction to team members before, during, and after events to help win games, meets, matches, and other competitions.
- Schedule and coordinate practice sessions and procedures.
- Attend all team events, ensuring proper conduct by players and coaches.
- Actively participate in all faculty and coaching meetings.
- Maintain records documenting individual player performance, academic status, and eligibility requirements.
- Ensure that all necessary physical exams, parental consent forms, waivers, and insurance forms are completed and filed to comply with local, district, and governing body rules and regulations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
**Required Skills and Abilities:**
- Thorough understanding of the fundamentals of the applicable team sport.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the rules and regulations associated with student athletes and coaches in the sport.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and managerial skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with athletes and coaches.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
**Education and Experience:**
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Applicable education certification and/or licensure required.
- A minimum of three years of coaching experience is required.
**Physical Requirements:**
- Prolonged periods of standing and movement during practices, games, meets, matches, and other competitions.
- Must be able to watch and analyze video of opposing teams.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
