What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative/Ancillary Nurse RN (Unit Manager) position at Johnstown Pointe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center?
RESPONSIBILITIES AND MAJOR DUTIES:
1. Attend and conduct as needed staff meetings with all shifts for purposes of planning,
coordinating and implementing nursing service policies and procedures.
2. Attend and participate in Resident Care Conferences as needed.
3. Assist in involvement and resolution of all resident and family concerns for facility.
4. Assist with the evaluation and supervision of all resident care and initiate corrective action as
necessary.
5. Direct and implement nursing service educational programs including, but not limited to,
orientation and in-service for licensed and unlicensed nursing personnel.
6. Ensure nursing service is in compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
7. Participate in the planning and implementation of the nursing service budget.
8. Assist in directing and supervising scheduling of employees within established guidelines for
allocation of nursing service personnel on duty.
9. Assist in directing, organizing and scheduling required resident assessments and related
documentation for Medicare, Medicaid, managed care and Health Maintenance Organization
(HMO) reimbursement.
10.Assist with interviews, hiring nursing service employees, conduct counseling interviews and
initiate disciplinary action as necessary.
11.Assist with written employee performance evaluations and participate in the recommendations
for salary increases, promotions and terminations.
12.Ensure proper coordination resident admissions, transfers and discharge with community
agencies and other facilities.
13.Attend and participate in all clinical meetings as required throughout the assigned facility(s).
14.Remain proficient in all computer software implemented throughout the clinical department.
15.Consistently work cooperatively with administration, all facility staff, ancillary personnel and
consultants.
16.Demonstrate consistent management of nursing service problems, emergency situations, and
initiate “life-saving” measures in the absence of a physician.
17.Observe infection control procedures.
18.Ensure the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process is followed in accordance to State
& Federal Guidelines.
19.Follow Residents’ Rights policies at all times.
20.Adhere to all facility policies & procedures and ensure they are adhered to by all responsibleparties and carry out disciplinary action for non-compliance as appropriate.
21.Ensure adherence to the Corporate Integrity Program and the Performance Expectations at all
times.
