What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dietary Personnel position at Johnstown Pointe Nursing and Rehabilitation?
JOB SUMMARY:
The purpose of this position is to complete duties assigned to provide accurate, timely food service
to meet residents’ needs in compliance with federal, state and local requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND MAJOR DUTIES:
1. Handle, prepare and serve food in a sanitary manner.
2. Set up trays and food service carts accurately and timely.
3. Serve and bus trays.
4. Pour and cover beverages.
5. Assist in preparing, covering and labeling food
6. Assist in the proper care, use and cleaning of kitchen equipment.
7. Ensure food service equipment is in and is kept in good working order.
8. Work cooperatively with dietary staff and other departments.
9. Attend in-service training programs for dietary employees.
10.Observe infection control procedures.
11.Ensure the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process is followed in accordance to State
& Federal Guidelines.
12.Follow Residents’ Rights policies at all times.
13.Adhere to all facility policies & procedures.
14.Ensure adherence to the Corporate Integrity Program and the Performance Expectations at all
times.
15.Perform other related duties as directed by the Dietary Manager and/or person of authority
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 16 years of age required. Previous experience working with or in and around food
service in a commercial setting, preferably a long term care facility, preferred. Ability to
read/write/comprehend the English language in written & verbal form required. Ability to
communicate both verbally and non-verbally required.
LICENSURE, REGISTRATION, COMPLIANCE CHECKS AND/OR CERTIFICATION
Certification as an Activities Professional preferred. Successfully complete &/or comply with all
required background checks to include but not limited to: Ohio BCI&I fingerprint analysis, FBI (if
applicable) fingerprint analysis, Nurse Aide Registry, HHS/OIG list of Excluded Individuals/Entities
(LEIE) & Ohio Medicaid Provider Exclusion and Suspension List. ServSafe certification preferred.

Provide services based on physician orders. Ability to follow direction and written and verbal
instructions.
COMPUTER
Basic personal computer skills including electronic mail, routine database activity and word
processing.

Works regularly with some information such as medical records or reports, financial reports,
information on computer screens or other electronic devices, and records that are restricted to
specific persons. Must comply with confidentiality policy.
