What are the responsibilities and job description for the Exercise Physiologist position at Joint Effort Exercise?
Joint Effort is a fast growing fitness concept which opened it's doors in late 2013. a We are looking to add an educated, experienced and passionate exercise physiologist to our team. We are seeking a highly motivated, energetic individual who can help us continue to expand and help the mature and senior population of the Connecticut shoreline improve their health & fitness in a safe, fun and effective manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and facilitate cardio, resistance and flexibility training programs in a group setting
- Use excellent communication skills to create a positive , successful environment
- Energize and motivate clients throughout the sessions
- Responsible for marketing, community outreach, and center in-reach to grow the business
- Responsible for follow up communication with new, current and former clients
- Ensure safety of participants in regards to heart rate and exercise technique
- Modify specific exercises to accommodate various skill levels
- Attend weekly and / or monthly fitness staff meetings
- Responsible for organization and cleanliness of the training floor, as well as other areas of the center
- Handle member concerns when applicable
- Lead new member tours and sales after training
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Applicants MUST have a current, approved national fitness certification and one on one personal training experience
- Knowledge of physiology, exercise technique, and body mechanics, as well as the ability to communicate this knowledge effectively to members
- Ability to multi-task and stay organized
- Positive, motivating and effective interpersonal communication skills
- Desire and capacity to train clients over the age of 60
- CPR/AED certification
Required education:
- Bachelor's
Required experience:
- Customer Service Skills: 3 years
- Cardiac and/or pulmonary rehabilitation preferred
- Personal training: 1 years
- Group fitness: 1 years
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $24.00 - $32.00 per hour
