Description
Orthopedic Surgery practice in Fort Myers has an open position for an experienced Billing Specialist.
Ideal candidate will be able to identify insurance denials and apply their expertise to do appeals or send corrected claims.
The candidate will have the knowledge of Modifiers and when to use appropriately. The candidate must be able to read and understand explanation of benefits (EOB's). This person is well rounded in all aspects of medical billing and coding.
Ideal candidate will be able to look up medical policies for individual carriers and apply them when applicable. The candidate will be required to access insurance portals to upload supporting documentation when necessary. The insurance portal will also be used for correcting claims when appropriate. The Medical Billing Specialist may be required to perform other duties requested by the billing manager.
Requirements
Must have a minimum of two years of medical billing experience working with denials.
Medical terminology, CPT, ICD-10 Codes, and proper use of modifiers.
Understanding of how to read Explanations of Benefits (EOB's).
Knowledge of billing and coding terminology.
Knowledge of medical billing procedures.
Knowledge of medical insurance claims processing.
Basic understanding of insurance fee schedule.
Skill in using a computer and a variety of software, including Electronics Health Records (EHR) software, Word, and Outlook.
Skill in communicating in a professional manner, both verbally and in writing.
Skill in managing multiple priorities and delegating as needed.
Ability to be a good representative of the Company.
Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive issues, patient care, privacy, and confidentiality.
Must be a team player and work well with others.
