JOB DESCRIPTION
The medical department is seeking an experienced Clinical Pharmacist to maintain an excellent quality of care for members and their families. Reporting to the Director of JIB Medical. The Clinical Pharmacist will be responsible for various duties, including but not limited to the following:
- Serves as the contact person with physician practices, pharmacy benefits manager outside facilities and government agencies.
- Ensures patient confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA in conjunction with the Privacy Officer.
- Reviews, approves, and signs off on requests for copies of medical records from outside agencies and insurance companies.
- Provides advice and recommendations on medical and pharmaceutical claims in cooperation with the Members Records and Hospitalization Departments.
- Collaborates on all aspects concerning the PBM in conjunction with the CMO, Director of Administration, and Director of JIB Medical
- Evaluates the overall effectiveness of coverage rules in place to ensure ongoing savings and utilization management.
- Confers with the PBM on options available to manage and control drug spend.
- Monitors drug utilization, with a focus on fraud, waste, and abuse.
- Assists plan participants to resolve issues and problems with the mail and retail benefit.
- Reviews and approves or denies pharmaceutical benefit appeals, including plan design overrides, co-pay waivers, excluded drug appeals, retail override, etc.
- Maintains records of all appeals and member contact regarding the prescription benefit
- advises on pharmaceutical benefit plan design, including coverage options and utilization management rules and criteria.
- Evaluates the overall effectiveness of coverage rules in place to ensure ongoing savings and utilization management.
- Monitors drugs spend and emerging trends.
- Confers with the PBM on options available to manage and control drug spend.
- Maintains records of all appeals and member contact regarding the prescription benefit.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is an On-site Full Time Exempt position. Monday-Friday, 9:00am -5:00pm.
