Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with diverse learning needs in a dynamic educational environment. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers and special education staff to provide individualized assistance, ensuring that each student can thrive academically and socially.
Qualifications:
- Applicants must have high school diploma or equivalent and accumulated thirty-two college credits or be able to pass the Paraprofessional Praxis exam.
- Previous aide or teaching experience preferred
- The ability to work with students with emotional, physical, and mental disabilities
- Ability to instruct students one-on-one and small group situations, at the direction of the Special Education Teacher
- Works well with students, staff, and the public
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to work under pressure and deadlines
- Maintain confidentiality of staff and students
- Must have or be able to get CPR/First Aid Certified Must be able to lift fifty pounds
- Selected applicant must be able to pass a criminal background check and drug test
