What are the responsibilities and job description for the Landscape Foreman position at JoJac's Landscape & Mowing Inc?
A landscape foreman manages landscaping and grounds maintenance projects. Expectations and responsibilities include:
- Planning: Making sure the crew has all the proper equipment prior to leaving the shop each day, gathering materials and creating a plan when getting to the job site to ensure the job gets done efficiently.
- Supervising: The landscape lead will oversee the crew to make sure everyone is doing their job and holding everyone accountable to ensure each job meets the customers expectations.
- Safety: Ensure safety practices are followed every day, enforcing proper use of PPE.
- Communication: Communicate with team members and supervisors. Occasionally talking to the customer while present at the job site if they have any questions.
- Physical Labor: Perform hands-on tasks like building retaining walls, laying patios and walkways, grades work, drainage, creating landscape beds, installing plant material, pruning and trimming shrubs, etc.
- Equipment: Operate equipment such as trucks, trailers, skid steers, hand tools, and gas powered equipment; such as tillers, blowers, and hedge trimmers.
- Inventory: Requisition and inventory tools, supplies, and equipment.
- Problem Solving: A good landscaper is a problem solver who can tackle various issues to achieve the desired outcome for the property.
- Detail oriented: Must leave each job site clean and free of debris. Making sure all streets, driveways, and walkways are left clean along with the new install of materials.

Landscape foreman work outdoors in all seasons and the job is physically demanding. They need to be able to lift, pull, and push up to 80lbs., and carry materials. The landscape foreman needs to have prior landscape experience and know how to properly build walls and patios, install plant material, lay sod, install French drains along with leveling and grade work, Minor affixation repairs or sprinkler adjustments may be needed from time to time. In the winter, snow removal is required as needed. Attention to detail is a must, to make sure the job is done correctly the first time. We are looking for someone who is detail oriented, trustworthy, and reliable.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
