FLSA Classification: Non Exempt, Part Time
Salary Range: Minimum Wage - $18/hr DOQ
Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor

Summary
Under the direction of the Inwood Athletic Club (IAC) Maintenance Supervisor, the Building Attendant is responsible for the delivery of a clean, friendly and safe environment that enhances the club experience.
Essential Duties

- Maintain the cleanliness of the facility – fitness floor, fitness bathroom, aerobic studios, etc.
- Maintain the cleanliness of all fitness equipment pads and frames, vacuums floors and clean all glass and mirrors.
- Follows a cleaning schedule check list and completes all shift assigned tasks.
- Set up rooms for room rentals
- Keep all weights racked when not in use and dumbbells and bars organized.
- Have a working knowledge of all facility equipment and demonstrate proper use.
- Conduct facility tours in a professional, friendly and knowledgeable manner.
- Enforce facility rules and encourage members to follow rules.
- Monitor fitness floor to assist members with questions.
- Participates in Park District special events.
- Possess knowledge of all Athletic Club services and programs with a general understanding of the entire Park District.
- Uphold ALL policies of the Joliet Park District and follow the philosophy of the IAC concerning Customer Service as outlined in the employee manual.
- Snow removal
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Hours
Part time hours which may include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Work environment
Employee’s general work area indoors is a smoke-free environment with controlled temperature and fluorescent lighting. Employee may be exposed to noise distractions from employees, participants, or equipment operation in adjacent work areas. Employee may be exposed to fumes from cleaning chemicals. May be subjected to outside weather elements including, but not limited to, cold, heat, rain, snow,etc.

Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and sometimes lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Education and Experience
Must be currently enrolled in high school, have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
Additional eligibility requirements
- Must be at least 17 years old
- Current CPR and AED certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
