Company Overview:
The Slammers are the professional baseball team in Joliet a part of the Frontier League, a “Partner League” of Major League Baseball, that are dedicated to providing exceptional experiences for fans in the city of Joliet and surrounding Chicagoland area. The right individual will be an integral part of the team to promote the Slammers positive culture, attitudes, and experiences for fans of all ages across all platforms.
Position Overview:
The Slammers are seeking enthusiastic, self-motivated college students to be a part of the 2025 season. As an intern, you will obtain first-hand experience in the ticket operations of a professional baseball franchise. A box office intern would primarily be focused on ensuring the Slammers fans have a wonderful experience by providing excellent customer service & engaging with fans throughout the season via ticket sales, theme nights, community outreach, and other opportunities across the organization!
Essential duties include but are not limited to:
- Represent the Joliet Slammers organization, partners, and sponsors with professionalism, pride, and enthusiasm at all times.
- Provide excellent customer service to all patrons.
- Planning and executing all aspects of ticket sales and associated tasks.
- Display outstanding teamwork, communication skills, and an energetic personality.
- Willingness to put yourself out there and promote confidence.
- Assisting with box office and production setup for home games.
- Stocking, cleaning, inventory, etc.
- Attend as well as assist with various community events/parades.
- Assist with the day-to-day function of the organization. (Multitasking comes with the territory!)
The ideal candidate:
- Currently attending a college or university.
- Able to work all 48 or a majority of home games and additional off-site events.
- Has a strong attention to detail & organizational skills.
- Has the ability to adapt to a fast-paced and everchanging work environment.
- Has excellent communication and customer service skills/experience.
- Are highly motivated with a strong work ethic.
- Able to work independently as well as a part of a team.
- Has previous sports industry experience. (Box office experience is a plus!)
- Has reliable transportation to commute to downtown Joliet.
