Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and highly organized 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) Supervisor to join our dynamic logistics team. The 3PL Supervisor will oversee and manage the daily operations of third-party logistics providers, ensuring timely and efficient delivery of goods while maintaining high-quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of supply chain processes, and the ability to coordinate between various stakeholders, including customers, warehouse teams, and 3PL providers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Oversight: Supervise and manage the day-to-day activities of third-party logistics providers, ensuring that all operations are conducted efficiently and in line with company policies and standards.
- Performance Management: Monitor and assess the performance of 3PL vendors, ensuring adherence to key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, accuracy, and cost control.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve supply chain processes, streamline workflows, and reduce costs while maintaining service quality.
- Inventory Management: Coordinate inventory levels, monitor stock movements, and ensure accurate reporting and record-keeping in collaboration with 3PL providers.
- Customer Coordination: Act as a liaison between customers, internal teams, and 3PL partners to address any service-related issues, ensure customer satisfaction, and resolve problems quickly.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure that all third-party logistics operations comply with relevant safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies, including health and safety guidelines.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports on 3PL performance, including shipping timelines, order accuracy, inventory levels, and cost analysis, and present findings to management.
- Training and Development: Train, mentor, and develop staff and 3PL partners on best practices, process improvements, and operational standards.
Qualifications:
- Experience in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field (preferred).
- 2 years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or warehouse operations, with at least some experience in a supervisory role.
- In-depth understanding of 3PL operations, inventory management, and logistics systems.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
- Proficient in using logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of safety regulations and industry best practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with WMS (Warehouse Management Systems)
- Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma principles.
