Personal Care Attendant

Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in need of assistance with daily living activities. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for clients, particularly those with developmental disabilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to providing high-quality care while ensuring the dignity and respect of each individual.

Duties

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
• Implement and follow care plans tailored to meet the specific needs of each client.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, ensuring hygiene standards are met.
• Assist clients with mobility, including heavy lifting when necessary, to ensure their safety and comfort.
• Document daily activities and any changes in client condition in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care.

Qualifications

• Experience in home care or social work is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of working with individuals who have developmental disabilities is a plus.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed to assist clients effectively.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients.
• Understanding of care plans and the ability to follow them accurately.
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations concerning patient privacy and confidentiality.
• A caring attitude and a passion for helping others improve their quality of life.
