Description
- Coordinates care of resident across all departments within the facility making sure that all orders are processed and implemented
- Maintains current FL-2’s, care plans, diet orders, and standing orders in all resident records.
- Ensures that physician authorization is obtained when required.
- Transcribes and processes telephone orders in compliance with state regulations.
- Serves as a liaison between physician practices and ensures that all orders intended are received.
- Reviews medication administration records (MARs) and treatment records on a monthly basis to make sure they are accurate.
- Supervises staff to ensure that the Plans of Care (POCs) are being followed.
- Serves as a resource for all outside agencies, including, but not limited to, regulatory agencies.
- Helps to plan and schedule staffing in order to meet the state regulated staffing requirements. Including the hiring and firing of care staff and related personnel.
- Organize and keep track of all tasks that need to be monitored for Licensed Healthcare Provider Support (LHPS).
- Serve as a representative of the facility when Administrator is not immediately available.
- Help with initial job interviews upon Administrator’s request.
- Delegate tasks to other departments in order to ensure total care is provided to all residents.
- Serve as an on-call resource for facility when assigned as such on the schedule.
- Assist with any other duties delegated by Administration.
Requirements
Persons in this position must have met all the requirements of the Supervisor-In-Charge and Medication Technician. Previous long-term care experience is required.
Walking and hearing is required 75% or more per shift. Far vision, near vision, low to medium levels of lifting, low levels of carrying and pushing/pulling, low to medium levels of handling and fingering are required about 50% per shift. Standing, talking, medium levels of carrying, pushing/pulling is required about 25% per shift. Sitting, crouching, climbing (ascending or descending), bending/twisting, reaching, very high levels of lifting, high to very high levels of carrying, very high levels of pushing/pulling is required about 10% per shift. Stooping, running grappling, balancing, feeling, high levels of lifting, pushing/pulling, fingering is present only in unusual situations. The required lift for this job classification is 50 lbs.
