JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for all OSHA and EPA-required written programs. Proactively manages the Company safety programs compiling statistics to identify trends and recommending solutions to reduce injuries and hazards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
An essential duty of this position is regularly reporting to work on time and being able to perform the essential duties of the position.
% Of Total Time
- Manages Safety and OSHA programs ensuring legal compliance and accuracy.
- Manages Environmental and Governmental Regulatory programs ensuring legal compliance and accuracy.
- Identify safety training needs in the organization, design, plan, and implement training programs to fulfill those needs.
- Ensures that safety training materials and programs are current, accurate, and effective.
- Manages accident investigation program and collaborates with Human Resources to manage Worker’s Compensation program.
- Manages the Safety Committee and participate in the Government Compliance Committee.
- Responsible for all EPA required written programs to ensure compliance, and records to include but not limited to Risk Management, Emergency Planning, Stormwater Discharge – Tier 2, SPCC, SARA and EPCRA and Air emissions programs.
- Attends outside training sessions to keep current on all safety and environmental laws and regulations, best practices, and trends.
- Performs special projects as assigned.
- Some travel is required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Completion of bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health, or in a related field and equivalent experience.
Experience or Training: 5 years prior management experience of personnel and safety programs. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Extremely organized and detail oriented. Must have the ability to demonstrate a high degree of confidentiality, efficiency, and professionalism. In depth knowledge of OSHA & EPA standards and other government regulations regarding safety, environmental and regulatory issues. Ability to focus on multiple projects while meeting deadlines. Critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
Technology/Equipment: Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience or Training: Certification such as CSP, CIH or CHMM, OSHA 30 preferred.
