The Business Intelligence Analyst leverages data analysis and visualization expertise to deliver valuable insights that meet client needs profitably. This position is recognized as a technical expert in data interpretation and business intelligence tools. This position supports implementing asset management solutions for clients.

Key responsibilities include :

Data Analysis and Reporting : Develop, plan, and implement complex data analysis projects, using various BI applications to generate actionable insights for users and stakeholders.
Database Management : Design and develop sophisticated database models and templates, ensuring data integrity and accessibility. Acquire, develop and update relational databases.
Program Development : Write, edit, and install programs for data access, maintenance, and integration, enhancing the efficiency of database operations.
Visualization and Communication : Create and present interactive dashboards and reports, effectively communicating complex data through clear visualizations for marketing and web-based platforms.
User Support : Address challenging inquiries from end-users regarding data requirements, ensuring they receive timely and accurate information.
Data Integration : Transform complex data from various sources-such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS), enterprise management systems, SCADA, financial and human resources software, spreadsheets, CAD drawings, and demographic models into BI tools and databases for comprehensive analysis.
Policy Development : Develop, maintain, and implement policies and procedures that ensure the accuracy and reliability of business intelligence data.
Geograhic Information Systems (GIS) : Works with complex GIS applications and asset management software to develop and implement solutions for clients. Applies the use of GIS to perform analyses and work with GIS Analyst and GIS Technicians.
Implementation : Work with project teams to implement asset management solutions for clients

Technical Responsibility

As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will play a crucial role in directing data analysis initiatives and guiding team members to deliver high-quality insights on a project-by-project basis. Your responsibilities will include :

Team Leadership : Direct the work of data analysts and technicians, ensuring project goals are met effectively.

Collaboration : Work closely with Project Managers and team members to maximize profitability while maintaining high standards of quality in deliverables.

Database Management : Acquire, develop, and update relational databases to support data analysis efforts.

Data Analysis : Manage and analyze complex datasets, translating findings into actionable insights for clients.

Expert Advice : Provide expert guidance on issues related to data analysis and visualization, helping clients understand the implications of their data.

Client Engagement : Present technical expertise during proposal development and client presentations, demonstrating the value of BI solutions.

Mentorship : Offer technical mentoring and training to colleagues and clients, fostering a deeper understanding of BI tools and techniques.

Data Integrity : Maintain and implement policies and procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of business intelligence data.

Written Communication : Prepare clear and concise written correspondence and reports summarizing findings and recommendations.

Independent and Team Work : Operate independently or collaboratively to execute technical activities aligned with project plans within the defined scope and budget.

Progress Tracking : Monitor project progress against scope, deliverables, schedules, and budgets to ensure successful outcomes.

Consultative Support : Provide consultative value to clients, offering insights that drive strategic decision-making.

Testing and Implementation : Develop and implement testing strategies to ensure that BI solutions meet company and client requirements.

Training : Conduct training sessions on new BI products to ensure seamless implementation and user adoption.

Documentation : Assist in creating and updating product documentation, ensuring clarity and accessibility for end-users.

Status Reporting : Communicate project status, issues, and risks to management, facilitating transparency and proactive problem-solving.

Continuous Learning : Stay current in the standards for the industry relevant to our client's use of business intelligence.

Education :

Education : Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Public Administration or related field

Experience :

A minimum of 5 years of experience with current business intelligence or software development environment that supports enterprise applications, providing operational and process improvement support. Proven experience in using Business Intelligence applications such as Microsoft Power Apps and Power BI to integrate large datasets. Experience with developing solutions with data analysis expressions.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

Proven experience in using Business Intelligence applications to solve complex data integration problems. Must have the ability to identify problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. Ability to develop functional specifications that document client expectations. Experience with agile development methodologies. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills. Experience working with public sector agencies, GIS and asset management is highly preferred. Project management experience is a plus.
