Description
We are an insurance defense firm located in the Financial District in Manhattan. We are currently seeking an experienced attorney to fill an associate attorney position in our Workers compensation department. Candidates must be admitted to practice in the State of New York with a minimum of 1 – 2 years of experience as a Workers Compensation Attorney. The ideal candidate will possess strong time management, writing, critical thinking, and problem solving skills and will be computer literate, detail oriented, and able to professionally interact with attorneys, support staff, and clients.
Responsibilities may include (but are not limited to):
- Managing and organizing worker's compensation caseload from start to finish.
- Attend hearings - mostly virtual unless otherwise scheduled
- Effectively communicating with clients to keep them apprised of the status of cases and ensure that their needs are met.
- Other document preparation as needed.
(Note: This position may require travel within the five boroughs of New York City and Long Island.)
Requirements
- Admitted to practice in New York State
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience
- Strong understanding of New York’s Workers Compensation insurance law and regulations, and American Arbitration Association (AAA) procedures.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office (particularly Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Ability to prioritize assignments and manage multiple deadlines
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Strong communication skills
Salary : $100,000 - $120,000
