Job Summary
The Warehouse Associate is primarily responsible for completing and coordinating the day-to-day operational functions of receiving, storing, shipping, packaging, and distribution of products. The Warehouse Associate participates in periodic physical inventory counts and assists with sales to “walk-in” customers.
Role and Responsibilities
- Receives incoming inventory shipments, logs receipts in inventory system, and stocks inventory items in the appropriate locations.
- Ensures that incoming product shipments correspond to the purchase order, packing list, and/or other shipping document(s). Follows up on discrepancies immediately.
- Picks and stages customer sales orders accurately and promptly. Double-checks item numbers and quantities to ensure that sales orders are correctly filled.
- Ensures that packaged goods to be shipped are in good, clean condition.
- Continuously monitors open sales orders to ensure they are picked in a timely manner.
- Prepares outgoing shipments for delivery to meet shipping cutoff times.
- Builds assembly items as needed.
- Obtains and records bulk inventory levels, and reconciles any differences, on a daily basis.
- Supports a high level of customer service by assisting “walk-in” customers in a safe, courteous, prompt, and accurate manner.
- Processes all paperwork and computer entries accurately and promptly.
- Tracks all inventory items in the inventory system.
- Assists with safely and accurately conducting periodic physical inventory counts.
- Notify appropriate person(s) of product shortages/outages.
- Maintains warehouse inventory items in an organized manner at all times.
- Protects products from loss and physical damage.
- Ensures the cleanliness of both the warehouse facility and the stored products.
- Maintains a safe warehouse environment, including safe storage and handling procedures.
- Reports any customer problems or concerns immediately.
- Operates equipment (including company vehicles), when required, in a safe and efficient manner.
- Participates in regulatory and safety training, as applicable.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job (including such tasks as lifting, climbing, pushing, stooping, squatting, bending, pulling, carrying, etc.)
- 1 to 2 years of warehouse/material handling experience highly preferred
- Customer service experience helpful
- Ability to operate industrial equipment; forklift operator certification, as applicable
- Ability to operate applicable computer hardware & software
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, and any other drug screens during the course of employment
