Sr Designer- Project Manager

Description

Duties shall generally include but not be limited to the following:

Essential Responsibilities:
 

Design

• Collaborate across teams in all aspects of the design and production process to plan and document a variety of projects
• Research/Inspiration/Brainstorming – conceptualize, design, and art direct across disciplines including; experiential graphic design, branding, way finding and specialty features
• Participate and prepare presentations internally & externally
• Design documentation and analysis
• Schematic design – generate multiple initial concepts and develop viable, documented design solutions
• Design Development Drawings – tighten design documents to include one direction with specific material selections, paint, vinyl and other specifications
• Design Intent (Bid Drawings) – transition the design documents into a very detailed drawing set including technical details, specifications and messages schedules
• Artwork – create production ready artwork for custom graphics, patterns and message layouts
• Construction Administration –Manage the fabrication and installation phases while coordinating with the GC (site and punch list documentation, shop drawings, RFI reviews)
• Bidding – ethically solicit bids, produce bid analysis and review with clients

Marketing

• Facilitate the creation of professional presentations
• Support the firm’s quality control of materials presented to clients including; billing, letters, reports, presentations, and drawing documents
• Direct searching and sourcing stock art, graphics, photos and other images;
• Provide support and input to enhance Jones Worley’s internal marketing and business development efforts (website, social media, etc.)
• Support the development and maintenance of proposals and qualification materials

Client Services

• Maintain client relationships through regular contact via phone, email and face-to-face meetings
• Problem-solve / provide direction to management and clients on manpower and project issues
• Work with VP Experiential Graphic Design to counsel clients on experiential communication strategies that support their business objectives
• Provide assistance on projects by assisting the firm’s principal and program managers as needed.
• Prepare concise written communication and well-documented “paper trails”
• Ensure high levels of craftsmanship, accuracy, consistency, and delivery in all client work

Project Management

• Lead design project teams and the implementation of client project work as assigned
• Manage client budgets and ensure that limits are not exceeded without written approval
• Ensure preparation of regular client and internal project progress reports
• Conduct programming sessions that ascertain project objectives, parameters, concerns, function challenges, design philosophy and other aspects of the project
• Identify and capture additional project services
• Monitor project status
• Research available products/techniques appropriate for the project execution
• Provide assistance on projects by assisting the firm’s principal and program managers as needed.

Qualifications

• Be meticulous about accuracy and attention to detail
• Must have a strong interest in design trends
• Languages – must be fluent in English and be able to write competently
• Excellent verbal communication skills – has the ability to convey information verbally to fellow team members and clients
• Stability under pressure – reacts well to change and stays positive despite setbacks

• Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design or related field
