Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee and manage construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management, with expertise in project scheduling, very strong at reading blueprints, and compliance with safety regulations. This role requires exceptional leadership abilities to supervise teams effectively and ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
Duties
- Supervise daily operations on the construction site, ensuring adherence to project plans and specifications.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth project execution.
- Develop and maintain project schedules and daily reports using Buildertrend
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality of work, and compliance with safety standards (OSHA).
- Utilize Bluebeam for document management and collaboration among project teams.
- Address any issues or delays promptly, implementing solutions to keep the project on track.
- Train and mentor junior staff members in best practices for construction management.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent working for another General Contractor
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and materials.
- Proficiency in project scheduling software such as Buildertrend or similar
- Familiarity with construction estimating methods and contract management.
- Excellent supervisory skills with the ability to lead diverse teams effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with stakeholders.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- A degree in Construction Management or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Ensure Jonestar’s standards of quality and safety are adhered to by assertively championing Jonestar safety culture to project team and subcontractors.
- Establish and maintain positive and effective relationships and communication with client,Construction Manager, project team, consultants/architect/engineers, subcontractors, adjacent community, trade unions, governmental agencies.
- Set up job site logistics, field coordination, and project schedule.
- Participate in the review of all project documents for constructability and content, including shop drawings.
- Maintain and update project records including RFI’s
- In collaboration with the Superintendent perform daily job site walks and submit daily safety audit reports
- Conduct and/or attend Forman meetings, pre-task meetings, safety meetings and project staff meetings.

See with close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and have the ability to adjust focus. Reach with hands and arms. Use hands and fingers to operate tools and other business machines. Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
