JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for developing new and expanding existing commercial banking relationships, administering a portfolio of commercial customers, determining the creditworthiness of borrowers, determining loan structure, monitoring loan performance, preparing and presenting commercial loans to committees, and promoting Bank’s image in the community. This employee handles moderately complex loan situations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the acquisition, retention and expansion of new and existing client relationships along with cross-selling of all banking products and services
- Responsible to maintain a working knowledge of bank deposit, loan and cash management products/services, etc.
- Determines the credit worthiness of borrowers by making sound analysis of an applicant’s financial condition, credit history, ability to repay, and collateral valuation in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Develop relationships with referral sources, such as attorneys, accountants, and influential community members, to identify prospects for new business opportunities
- Monitor loan performance by maintaining contact with borrowers, monitoring the
- financial condition of borrowers and resolving problems in a timely manner.
- Monitor portfolio to identify deteriorating credit situations and take appropriate action to address with assistance from credit administration
- Maintain a strong understanding of each customer’s business, industry, and associated risks
- Adhere strictly to compliance and operation risk controls in accordance with Bank and regulatory standards, policies and practices; report control weaknesses, compliance breaches and operational loss events
- Approve and/or deny loan applications within established lending limits, or make recommendations to approving supervisor or loan committees
- Maintain current knowledge of credit regulations, commercial banking trends, general banking, and business development skills
- Analyze potential loan markets to find opportunities to promote loans and financial services
- Provides guidance and mentoring to less experienced Bank personnel including risk assessment, loan structure, loan documentation and pricing
- Develop and manage commercial relationships that meet established deposit and lending requirements and maximize profitability to the bank with minimal risk
- Provide portfolio maintenance and loan administration in accordance with bank policies
- Accept/complete loan applications as needed
- Represent the bank in the local community through active participation in community affairs and activities.
- Participate in marketing and cross selling of all Bank products and services
- Routinely incorporate compliance (knowledge of laws/regulations) in day-to-day tasks
- Complete other duties, as assigned

- PC experience to include Windows, Office, Word and Excel and analysis software products.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience handling commercial relationships at a financial institution
- Previous experience working with credit risk analysis and loan underwriting
- Ability to interpret policies/procedures, real estate sales agreements, and other loan documents
- Capacity to work independently and motivation to achieve goals with minimal supervision
- Ability to participate productively as part of a team
